Legislator Report Card 2007

People of Faith has conducted a study of the voting records of Connecticut legislators in 2007 in order to develop a Legislator Report Card.

Goal

The goal of the Legislator Report Card is to increase legislator accountability by identifying those elected officials who promote public policies consistent with spiritual and biblical values – and those who do not. Constituents may use the Legislator Report Card to dialogue with their representatives and senators and to make informed decisions in future elections.

The bills were selected using the following criteria:

  • Advocacy by People of Faith and/or allied organizations

Values & Principles

  • compassion, alleviation of suffering, restraint of violence
  • equality, fairness and justice
  • respect for human dignity and human rights
  • solidarity with children, racial and sexual minorities, people who are poor or otherwise socially marginalized
